PURPOSE: The purpose of the school is to help reduce alcohol and drug related crime and to reduce incidence of DUI. The class provides information to individuals concerning legal, physiological, and psychological effects of alcohol and drug use as well as short and long term effects of substance use, abuse, and dependence, and treatment options.
PROCEDURE: The Alcohol / Drug Information School (ADIS) is an eight hour course. It includes lecture, videotape and a self-assessment. A pre- and post-alcohol and drug knowledge assessment is completed.
FEES: $110.00 payable by cash or money order in advance or at the time of the class. Failure to cancel in advance will result in the following fee increases:
1st No Show Fee increase to $120.00
2nd No Show Fee increase to $135.00
3+ No Shows Fee increase to $150.00
ACCESS/REFERRAL: The need for this education program is determined at the time of the evaluation. The school is held on a monthly basis with locations rotating between Pittsburg, Parsons, and Riverton. A school is offered in Pittsburg for Spanish speaking individuals.
This class is available to individuals outside of the 11th Judicial Court or State of Kansas. The same fee applies.
