Individual Community Support/Attendant Care

PURPOSE: To provide additional support in the form of adult supervision to a child or adolescent that meets SED criteria (see page 20). The Individual Community Support/Attendant Care (ICS/AC) Worker’s role is to provide additional support and structure to the integrated treatment plan to increase the likelihood of success of specific treatment goals. These goals may be to improve functioning at home, school or with peers.

PROCEDURE: ICS/AC Workers will spend time with a child or adolescent providing supervision, which may include assistance with behavioral management at home, school or during recreation. This may include role modeling of appropriate communication, personal interaction skills and responsible behavior. ICS/AC services are provided on a scheduled basis to children and adolescents who need additional intensive supervision to function successfully in the community.

FEES: ICS/Attendant Care services are reimbursed by Medicaid. A sliding fee scale is used for those without Medicaid. Fees are adjustable based on a sliding fee scale according to income and number of dependents living in the home. SRS may also contract for these services.

ACCESS/REFERRAL: This service is available to any Family Life Center, Inc. child or adolescent that is receiving case management services and is in need of additional support as deemed necessary by a case manager and therapist.
